The 31 year-old added that many forget about the wellbeing of players and everyone is talking about how it should be accepted.

“For him to just carry on working – not only him but other players as well – and deal with it and show a reaction is what we need, all of us.

“To do that I think it’s important that we back him and the manager and the club and the fans.”

Liverpool has only won two of their first seven Premier League games. They have also.been struggling in the Champions League where they recorded their first win of the season against Rangers on Day Three.

His place in the starting line up of England is also in doubt after Gareth Southgate said Kieran Trippier’s all-round game is better than his.

What Alexander-Arnold must do return to form

Having stated that he remains positive despite the criticism, Alexander-Arnold must work on his defensive ability. This is the part that is he is lacking and has opened the defense of the Reds.

If he can do this, he is likely to be the best right-back in the world

Speaking after Tuesday’s Champions League game against Rangers, the defender who scored a free-kick, said he was just on performing on the pitch.

“No matter what I always try and think positively,” he added.

“It’s been a slow start to the season for me but I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”
