Victor Moses aims to help Luton Town get back to Premier League

Former Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has returned to play in England, this time with second-tier club Luton Town FC.

NRTC reported that the 33-year-old Premier League and FA Cup winner was announced on Tuesday as a Luton Town player.

He was notable for helping Chelsea win the 2016/17 English Premier League title under Italian manager Antonio Conte. During that season, Conte deployed a tactical 3-4-3 formation that had Moses play in the right wing position. Spanish player Marcos Alonso featured as the left-wing back for the title-winning Blues.

Victor Moses was also part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Europa League in the 2012/13 season.

In an interview with the club’s official TV, Moses said he just wants to play football and “help the lads”.

ā€œIā€™m very excited and I canā€™t wait to get started,ā€ said Victor. ā€œIā€™m looking forward to it, itā€™s a pleasure to be here. Itā€™s a good time for me to be in the country and start to enjoy my football again.

ā€œAfter Luton were in the Premier League last season, and coming back down to the Championship, the main objective now it to try and help the club go back up to the Premier League again.ā€

“…Taking each game as it comes”

ā€œBut you know what, football is like this sometimes. They were just a little bit unlucky not to stay up last season.

ā€œI thought the boys did fantastically well, but this seasonā€™s target now is to focus more on the game on Saturday coming up, and just taking each game as it comes and try to get back up into the Premier League.ā€

Moses’ experience will be vital for Luton

With nearly 550 career appearances, Victor Moses has built an incredible football rĆ©sumĆ©. His achievements include Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League winner’s medals.

Moses has played on the biggest stages, from World Cups to AFCON and the Champions League. As a former England Under-21 international, his career highlights are nothing short of impressive.

ā€œItā€™s time for me to start working hard and help the lads with the experience that Iā€™ve got,ā€ he said.

ā€œItā€™s a collective as well, so we all need to work together as a team and individual as well. If we can work together as a team, we can easily achieve whatever we want this season. Itā€™s all about desire. The ambition is there.

ā€œTechnically every single one of the players here are very good. Iā€™ve trained with the lads and the mentality is very good, so we need to kick on now from Saturday and try to go back into a winning situation again.ā€

Moses says he just wants to play football. He stated: “Iā€™ve always said that, I just want to enjoy it.”

ā€œWhatever minutes I get, I just want to go out there and help the lads. Thatā€™s the most important thing and Iā€™m fit, ready to go and I want to play football and help the team, make sure we win as many games as we can this season.ā€

ā€œHard work, dedication, desire and I just want to do as much as I can to help the lads and the fans to win games,ā€ he adds.

ā€œThatā€™s what the fans want to see, is winning games and Iā€™ll do the best I can. Itā€™s all about collectiveness. If we can pull it together as a team we can achieve whatever we want.ā€
