The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for Private Candidates, Second Series.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement by WAEC’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina.
According to Adesina, a total of 65,023 candidates sat for the examination. Of this number, 43,923 candidates, representing 67.55%, secured credit and above in at least five subjects. Additionally, 34,878 candidates, making up 53.64% of the total, obtained credit and above in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Adesina described the results as promising.
“The performance of candidates in this year’s examination is encouraging, with a significant percentage achieving credit and above in key subjects,” she said.

Candidates can check their results online through www.waecdirect.org by following these steps:
✅ Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.
✅ Input the four-digit Examination Year (e.g., 2024).
✅ Select ‘Private Candidate Results’ as the examination type.
✅ Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number.
✅ Provide the Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the e-PIN.
✅ Click ‘Submit’ to view your results.
Candidates facing difficulties in accessing their results are advised to contact WAEC through its official communication channels for assistance.
