Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has criticised the Federal Government for failing to address the growing economic hardship across the country.
Speaking in a recent interview with British media personality Madame Joyce in the UK, Zlatan lamented that Nigerians have become too accustomed to suffering because of the government’s inaction.
“We are used to it [suffering and smiling], that’s how it has always been and the government isn’t doing anything about it,” he lamented.
The singer was reacting to a satire by British rapper Dave, who highlighted the contrast between Nigeria’s lavish club scenes and the struggling beggars who linger outside such venues.

Zlatan also expressed dismay over what he described as the increasing complacency among some beggars in the country.
According to him, many have turned begging into a full-time occupation despite receiving daily support from kindhearted Nigerians, including celebrities.
He described the sense of entitlement among some of them as “annoying,” urging street beggars to embrace more productive and dignified means of livelihood.
