The 2023 presidential election is fast approaching, Presidential candidates are doing their best to cover any loose ends.

Finishing touches are being executed, last minutes campaign and rallies , re-strategisation and mobilization , all in a bid to secure the bag being the presidential seat.

The whole country is agog with activities and preparations for the upcoming elections, school are rapidly closing for the meantime; the independent national electoral commission is also taking active steps to ensure the smooth runnig of the elections.

Additionally, the electoral body is recruiting ad-hoc members and training them for the process; even the masses are taking active steps preparing for the D-day, by locating their polling units, taking precautionary measures to protect their selves, family and properties.

Amidst these preparations , prominent figures in the entertainment, media and arts world; and even leaders of different spiritual movements have decided to to add their two cents of wisdom.

Also, they have taken it upon themselves to champion the cause of a free, fair and credible election by getting actively involved in the election process; publicly endorsing their chosen candidates and motivating Nigerians to come out and vote in the 2023 elections.

Folarin Falana popularly known as @falzthebadhguy, a singer, rapper and actor is one of those who is constantly agitating for a free and fair election.

In a video he posted on all his social handles, the rapper was seen imploring Nigerians to go out and vote for the “formidable third force” which from all indication is the labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Falzthebadhguy, a social activist who engaged in the #EndSARS protest in 2020 has oftentimes unapologetically expressed his disappointment in the current administration.

In his tweet posted on February 20,2023, he said ” i will not vote for the same people who have plunged us into this unending chaos”.

The Labour Party seems to have won the hearts of many Nigerian celebrities and their followers as a lot of them have come out to show their full support of the party and all its candidates.

Another celebrity showing affinity for Labour Party’s flagbearer is Peter Okoye who is popularly known as Mr P, one half of the popular twin duo, P Square.

Outrightly debunking the claims that his support of the candidate has noting to do with tribe. The popularly singer has often made use of his social media handles to publicly campaign for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

Tensions mounting, a constant state of unrest and the feel of danger brewing in every area; this year’s election seems to determining point that will either make or mar Nigeria as a country- in light of this many other personalities have decided to take a stand in this election.

One of such is Debo Adedayo also known as Mr Macaroni, an actor and content creator.

Mr Macaroni staunchly supports the Labour Party’s candidate but this is seems have led to a lot of negative comments, insults , defamation and trolling from supporters of the opposing parties.

The current state of the economy is enough motivation to spur people into voting the candidate of their choice and fully participating in the national exercise.

Leaders of spiritual movements are not excluded; there is a shift from being neutral and non partisan to them indirectly endorsing candidates.

The social media is littered with numerous prophecies from various spiritual heads from across the country.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, bishop David Oyedepo and so many other have refused to just sit on the sidelines while the country economy deteriorates but have encourage their followers to pray and vote in this election.

With influencers and celebrities alike all endorsing their candidates publicly; there is room for speculation on how much pull or influence these celebrities have on their followers and fan and to what extend it will influence the coming election .

Keeping our fingers crossed we anticipate the 2023 general elections. “May the best man win”.
