“What binds us together supersedes what separates us”- Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday said Nigeria has the potential to achieve greatness if citizens embrace peace and unity.

Shettima made the remark in Jos during a visit to the palace of the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, HRH Jacob Gyang Buba.

“We are all connected one way or the other. We must therefore continue to live together. What binds us together supersedes what separates us,” Shettima said.

He stressed that Nigerians share a common heritage and identity, adding that the ties that unite the nation are stronger than the forces that seek to divide it.

The vice president was in Plateau State to attend a grand reception for Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other prominent politicians who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shettima praised traditional rulers for their role in preserving societal values, noting that they remain respected leaders because they uphold peace and stability in their communities.
