WhatsApp has introduced a drafts feature at last

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

After years of not having a drafts feature, WhatsApp, the world’s most used messaging platform, now has one. Why did it take until the last part of 2024 to implement what looks like a straightforward tool that has existed for other competitive sites for quite some time? Who knows, but it’s here now.

The appropriately named Message Drafts gives you “a new and easy way to locate your incomplete messages on WhatsApp.” All you have to do is check for the “Draft” icon as a prefix to a message. The platform claims that such half-baked messages will pop up at the start of the chat list, so that “people can easily find them.”

It is among the drafts feature, so it doesn’t have much to offer. The tool is available now internationally through the app. This way we will have no pressure at all to complete the messages to the fullest. We can fiddle with them now and then ad infinitum or until the heat dissolves the universe into space dust. Lose yourself in a world of diabetes anxiety and win the procrastination mitzvah.

This is just the latest update to WhatsApp; the application has been through anti-boring measures recently. It has exposed custom lists lately, to assist those who want to monitor certain discussions, and first introduced a program that would enable people to share contacts from any device.
