WhatsApp is getting a lot more stickers

In this matter, WhatsApp has been rather vague in terms of support of stickers as compared to other similar apps like Telegram or Telegram in particular, at least as long as the Android operating system was concerned. Meta just added support for the integration of GIPHY, AI stickers, and a custom Android sticker creator.

WhatsApp revealed 4 new changes to enhance your user experience regarding stickers in the app. Currently, GIPHY hosts an extensive sticker collection, used as the base for sticker options in the leading third-party apps, including Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and others. Meta has now expanded that library to WhatsApp. Stickers which can be used together with it can be searched within the sticker tray, using text or emojis.

The iOS WhatsApp works by having, a custom sticker maker app that allows the users to create stickers relatively quickly. It allows them to convert photos to stickers (once they have sliced them and cleared the backdrop), caption, or draw on them. These stickers can however be shared and saved within the stickers tray. Meta has now added this custom sticker maker feature to the Android app as well. “Users of iOS have specifically been enjoying this feature and therefore we are glad to bring it for everyone,” the message states.

If you do not find a suitable sticker in the GIPHY database, there is an opportunity to create stickers in Meta AI mode. It works with simple text inputs on Android and iOS and supports only users in the U. S.; iOS’s language support is also currently limited to English only. Incidentally, the Android app also has the added ability to create AI stickers in Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia as well.

Along with all these new features, Meta is also trying to tidy up the interface to make it easier to find new relevant stickers. WhatsApp will automatically show sticker recommendations below the downloaded sticker packs, and allow you to quickly add them to your favourites. You can also hold and drag stickers around to quickly find them later. Moving a sticker on top of another will replace it.
