Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has revealed what he believes caused the breakdown of his friendship with Nigerian music star Burna Boy, alleging that false accusations made by former members of his team created a wedge between them.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, the singer recalled hosting Burna Boy during one of his visits to Ghana. According to him, he ensured the Grammy-winning artiste had a comfortable stay by providing accommodation, vehicles and other support.
Shatta Wale claimed that after ending his relationship with some members of his team, they allegedly embarked on a campaign to damage his reputation by feeding false information to people close to him.
“They told Burna Boy that I was f**king his girl he brought to Ghana. He just bought it,” he claimed.

The Ghanaian artiste said he made several attempts to reconnect with Burna Boy after the Nigerian singer rose to greater international fame, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
He disclosed that he also reached out to Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, hoping she could help facilitate communication, but said she only offered reasons why the singer was unavailable to speak with him.
Despite the strained relationship, Shatta Wale said he is pleased with Burna Boy’s success on the global stage. However, he expressed disappointment that the Afrobeats star never gave him the opportunity to clear the air over what he described as false allegations made by his former associates.
