Kris Asimoye, the wife of Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma, has shared why she did not change her surname after getting married.
She made this known in a post on her Instagram page, where she spoke about a decision her husband advised her to take when they got married.
According to her, Bovi encouraged her to keep her maiden name instead of adopting his surname.
At that time, she said she did not fully understand why he made that suggestion. She admitted that the reason behind his advice was not clear to her in the early days of their marriage.

Kris and Bovi have been married for years and share three children together.
She wrote: “When I got married, my husband encouraged me not to change my last name. At the time, I did not fully understand why.
“Now, building Kris Asimonye as a brand, I understand completely.”
