Senate President Godswill Akpabio has explained why the National Assembly has not considered an impeachment notice against President Bola Tinubu.
He made this known on Thursday during a national summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event was organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio, speaking in front of party members and other government officials, said the lawmakers believe Tinubu has been performing well since taking office in 2023.
According to him, the President has maintained steady leadership despite the challenges that came with the beginning of his administration.
The Senate President said that if there had been any wrongdoing or failure on Tinubu’s part, the National Assembly would have acted accordingly.

However, he noted that there has been no need for such action because the President is seen as doing his job.
He added that Tinubu, who faced a tough political journey during the 2023 elections, is now in a stronger position.
Akpabio predicted that if things continue in the current direction, Tinubu could have an easier path to re-election in 2027, as more states and supporters may rally around him.
