You do not have to be a skincare freak to take care of your skin .Your skin serves you as the outer protection so the least you can do in return is to take care of it.
It feels like this era, the awakening of skincare and its routine is more persistent than it has ever been. Why? Because the climate is not as fair as it was before. Through our acts, we have depleted the ozone layer and the ultraviolet rays have more access to get in contact with us. That is why we have put on a defense to protect our skin.
If you don’t want to bother yourself about a skin care routine, you should at least use sunscreen to protect your skin. Sunscreen is not for the whites only- it is for all humans.
What is sunscreen?
āSunscreen, also known as sunblock[a] or sun cream, is a photoprotective topical product for the skin that helps protect against sunburn and prevent skin cancer.ā- Wikipedia.
There are different types of sunscreens, that is, we cannot all use the same type. We have different types of skin so hence the different types of sunscreen. But majorly, sunscreens are divided into two types.
Mineral sunscreen
Mineral sunscreen tends to leave white cast because they are made from zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. They are thick in consistency. Mineral sunscreens are best advisable to use because their ingredients enable them to form a barrier to block the sun’s rays from penetrating into your skin.
Dermatologists have found the mineral sunscreen effective and suitable for those with sensitive and eczema prone skin.
Chemical sunscreen
While chemical sunscreen looks glossy on the skin, mineral sunscreen does not. Chemical sunscreens synthesize the UV rays and turn them into health which in turn gets expelled by your body. It doesn’t build a physical block rather it gets absorbed into your skin. You might have to apply constantly.
This type doesn’t leave a white cast because they are made from chemically active ingredients. They are not suitable for some skin types.

Why must I always use sunscreen?
The sun emits dangerous rays that make us susceptible to skin cancer and skin diseases. Most people suffer from hyperpigmentation and sun scars or burn because the rays of the sun have literally burnt through their skin.
You might engage in constant exfoliation of your skin yet you leave your skin bare to UV rays of the sun. Mind you, you don’t have to go outside to be in contact with the dangers of the sun. They escape into your abode through the windows, simply put, as long as you have rays of light come into your shelter, the UV rays come alongside.
How do I know the type of sunscreen to use?
Visiting a dermatologist for professional advice is the ultimate approach to this. But, you can as well get one without doing so. If you have a sensitive type of skin, you should go for a mineral type above SPF 30.
Always choose a sunscreen with a broad spectrum. If you cannot deal with white cast, you can go for a chemical based type. But mind you, you would have to reapply every 20 seconds as its potency burns fast. Most chemical type have moisturizing qualities.
