Wimbledon: Novak Djokovic beats Rublev to seal semi-final place

Serbian Novak Djokovic continued his impressive form following his 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-3 victory over Andrey Rublev in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

The 36-year-old is now edging closer to equalling Roger Federer’s mens’ singles record at Wimbledon.

He is now solidly on course to claim a fifth successive title on the London lawns. He has sights on tying Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon singles titles and also winning a record-extending 24th major crown.

Djokovic will now face American Jannik Sinner in the semi-final. Sinner defeated Roman Safiullin in four sets earlier on Tuesday.

The game will be a rematch of the duo’s quarter-final last year at Wimbledon. Djokovic had rallied from two sets down to claim a sensational 5-7 2-6 6-3 6-2 6-2 victory.
