“Wizkid begged to feature on my project”- Asake (VIDEO)

Nigerian recording artiste, Ololade Ahmed who is better known by the pseudonym, Asake has stated that renowned music superstar, Wizkid pleaded to feature on his newest music project, Lungu Boy.

Wizkid featured in the single, ‘MMS’ which is off Asake’s 3rd studio album, Lungu Boy.

The album debuted on Friday, August 9 much to a critical acclaim. Following the release of the album, the single, ‘MMS’ featuring Wizkid is one of the most popular off the project.

Speaking about how Wizkid got to connect on the album, he explained that he had someone else in my mind but the producer, P. Prime played the song for Wizkid and he asked to be featured in it.

Asake disclosed this during a recent interactive session with fans on Instagram.

ā€œI didnā€™t know I was going to put Wizkid on that song to be honest. I had someone else in mind for that song, but I think P.prime played the song to wiz, and wiz said ā€œI f*ck with this song, I want to jump on itā€™,ā€ he said.

ā€˜MMSā€™ was released on Friday off Asakeā€™s third studio album ā€˜Lungu Boyā€™.

The song broke the record for the biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria with 870,000 streams.

The record was previously held by ā€˜IDKā€™ by Wizkid featuring Zlatan Ibile (626,000 streams).

Meanwhile, Asakeā€™s ā€˜Lungu Boyā€™ has broken the record for the biggest first-day streams for an African album on Spotify.

The album garnered 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.
