Wizkid performs in Tottenham

Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Balogun who is better known as Wizkid on Saturday, July 29 headlined his “More Love, Less Ego” concert at Tottenham stadium, London, United Kingdom.

Since his emergence into the mainstream in the early 2010s, Wizkid who is otherwise known as Star boy or Machala has continued to experience exponential growth in his music career. The singer-songwriter who is from Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos state has been described as one of the flagbearer of the foremost music genre Afrobeat alongside Davido and Burna Boy.

Prior to the Tottenham stadium on Saturday night, Wizkid has headlined concerts across numerous nations including in France where superstars such as Paris St. Germain’s forward, Kylian Mbappe was present.

For his More Love, Less Ego concert, Wizkid left no stone unturned as he opened the musical vaudeville with the soothing song, ‘Reckless’. The singer emerged to massive applaud from fans who had lights from their cellphones shone upon the 32-year-old Afrobeat superstar.

Expectedly, Wizkid did not disappoint the fans as he effortlessly delivered one of the best performances before a cross-continental audience that stared at him in awe and continuously expressed their fascination by his showmanship.

It is important to note that the concert in London is a historical one for African music as the singer became the first and only African artist to have ever headlined and performed at the venue.
