Boniface, Tella š³š¬ help Leverkusen secure Bundesliga trophy š
Parading the likes of Nigerian duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella, they were always going to be majestic. The former is the club’s top scorer this term and that’s despite the 22-year-old being out for a long spell due to injury.
Boniface also opened the scoring at the BayArena against Bremen for his 11th league goal. He converted a 25th-minute penalty after Jonas Hofmann was fouled in the box by Julian Malatin.
Following an array of attacking adventures, Leverkusen finally got their second through former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka. The 31-year-old released a left-footed shot from 25 yards out on the hour mark.
Eight minutes later, Florian Wirtz – who only came on at the start of the second half – scored the first of his three goals. His rifled shot into the net was followed by another strike in the 83rd minute.
