The executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the prestigious Vanguard Personality of the Year Award. He received the award last Saturday.
The venue erupted into a spree of cheer and chatter as attendees and other award recipients hailed the Governor on his well-deserved award.

The aim of the ceremony is to commemorate and appreciate the effort of prominent personalities who contribute to the growth and development of society.
Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to excellence
Sanwo-Olu dedicated his award to the residents of the Centre of Excellence. He later disclosed via social media, that the award means a lot to him and would serve as a constant reminder to work harder for Lagosians.
The Governor expressed his joy and gratitude to his people as he stated, āI feel highly honoured to receive the Vanguard Personality 2019/2020 by the Vanguard Newspapers Group. The awards means a lot to me.”

āThis prestigious award will be a constant reminder to me and my team to perform better; to outdo ourselves in the current year for efficient service delivery to the good people of Lagos State.ā
Sanwo-Olu added, āI wish to dedicate the award to every Lagosian out there for believing in our administrationās vision of a greater Lagos. We will not relent in our efforts to achieve this and other set goals along with our THEMES agenda.ā

Governor Babajide was accompanied to the event the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Mr. Gbenga Omotoso and the Commissioner for Health, Professor, Akin Abayomi. Also with him were the Commissioner for Housing Mr. Muruf Fatai-Akinderu and the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello.
The event also had the presence of the Ondo, Ekiti and Kaduna State Governors: Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
