Nigerian wrestler Blessing Oborududu has made her country proud by winning the country’s first ever medal in wrestling at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. She won a silver medal having lost out to her opponent, USA’s Tamya Mensah-Stock, in the final of the women’s freestyle 68kg today.
This news has brought smiles to the citizens of the nation. Nigeria has had some setback in the team since the start of the games. Majority of her competitors were disqualified from the games for failing their drug test. Hence, Oborududu’s win came as a relief to the most populous nation in Africa.
