Atiku lauds Davido for donating birthday money to orphanages

Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has applauded popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known in music circles as Davido, for donating the sum of N250 million to orphanages across Nigeria.

The initial amount of N200 million was donated by Davidoā€™s friends and associate after he posted on social media that they should donate towards his birthday.

He then decided to add N50 million of his personal money to the amount and announced that all the sum will be donated to orphanages across the country.

The ā€˜Assuranceā€™ crooner, in a video post on his Instagram page, said that he was not trying to be cocky by giving out the money but that he has not need for it, hence his willingness to give it out to those who are really in need.

ā€œDear @davido, thank you for making the lifting of others a cornerstone of your endeavour. I join your family and friends and millions of your fans in wishing you a memorable birthday. I wish you more years in good health, more award-winning music and, above all, lifting others,ā€ he tweeted.
