The past weekend was a weekend where some Nigerian stars shone like stars with impressive performances for their respective clubs in Europe.
The likes of Watford forward, Emmanuel Dennis, was in his element with a sparkling performance and a goal against Manchester United, while to David Okereke scored in Veneziaās historic win against Bologna.
In the German Bundesliga, Taiwo Awoniyi was also in inspirational form for Union Berlin scoring against Hertha Berlin in their 2-0 win while little known Akintola also helped his Turkish Suoer Lig club, Adana Demispor against Altay.

NRTC takes a look at the five Nigerian stars whose performances over the weekend stood out.
David Akintola ā Altay (Turkey)
The 25-year-old ended his goal drought in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday with the effort that sealed Adana Demirspor’s 3-1 win over Altay.
The last time Akintola scored a goal was in August against Kayserispor and he has grabbed two goals in five games so far in this campaign.
Emmanuel Dennis – Watford (England)
Dennis delivered a man-of-the-match performance for Watford in their 4-1 thrashing of Manchester United in Saturday’s Premier League match.
The Nigeria striker produced two moments of brilliance within three minutes of stoppage time, by providing an assist for Joao Pedro’s goal before he powered in a right-footed shot past goalkeeper David De Gea in the 95th minute.
Taiwo Awoniyi – Union Berlin (Germany)
The Union Berlin striker set a new personal scoring record in a league season after opening the scoring in Saturday’s Berlin derby that ended in a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
Awoniyi scored his eighth Bundesliga goal of the season at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei which is now his best tally in a league campaign after 12 matches.
David Okereke ā Venzia (Italy)
David Okereke scored the only goal that gave Venezia a 1-0 win over Bologna in a Serie A encounter on Sunday.
The goal also helped the Winged Lions end their long-awaited win over Bologna since 1947.
The former Nigerian youth star, who is on loan from Club Brugge, has now scored four goals in 12 league games in this campaign.
Peter Olayinka ā Slavia Prague (Czech Republic)
The 26-year-old started the party for Slavia Prague who romped to a 5-0 victory over Jablonec on Sunday.
Olayinka scored the first goal for the hosts in the 15th minute, to take his tally to four goals after eight league appearances this season.
