The black Stars of Ghana were yesterday evening saved by VAR in a goalless draw in Kumasi, leaving Ghana and Nigeria’s World Cup hopes in the balance.
The Super Eagles are now the pundits favourites to qualify, after a tight first leg finished goalless, in their playoff tie yesterday.
The Baba Yara Stadium was packed full with supporters in yellow and red brimming with energy. The Black Stars had said they had a plan to get a positive result against the Super Eagles and they started as though they meant business.

There was little in the way of clear-cut chances across the 90 minutes in Kumasi. Moses Simon having the best chance for Nigeria, but was denied in the second-half.
Focus now shifts to Tuesday’s second leg at the 60,000 capacity, Moshood Abiola National stadium in Abuja.
Nigerians are hopeful that the Super Eagles can turn up in style in the return fixture to beat the Ghanaians. And grab the ticket to represent Africa at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
