IPOB accuses Police of lying about death of ESN members

IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday, August 4, said no member of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, was killed in Delta State.

IPOB accused the police of lying and misinforming Nigerians.

Emma Powerful, the spokesman of IPOB, said ESN operatives were not involved in a gun battle with policemen in the state.

Powerful said the claim by the Nigeria Police Force was aimed at blackmailing IPOB and ESN.

The group stressed that ESN are disciplined operatives, and hence have no business engaging police in a gun battle.

A statement by Powerful reads partly: ā€œWe the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command of great leader, Nnamdi Kanu wish to inform the public that there was no ESN or IPOB member killed in Delta State.

ā€œWe advise Nigeria police in Delta to stop lying and misinforming the public. The second name of the Police should be ā€œNigeria Police Lying Forceā€ because lying has become part of their job.

ā€œESN volunteers did not have any gun battle with the Police and no ESN operative died in Delta State.ā€

IPOB said its militia is after terrorists and not the police or army.

The separatist group cautioned the police against deceiving the public.

The group maintained that ESN remain formidable until the actualization of Biafra, hence would not be distracted by the blackmail of the Nigerian Government.
