Alex Iwobi has been nominated for the EA SPORTS September Player of the Month award. Five other players have been nominated for the prize as well.
Philip Billing, Kevin De Bruyne, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Jacob Ramsey and Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford are the other nominees.
How they faired in September
26-year-old Dane Philip Anyanwu Billing scored 50% of Bournemouth’s goals across the two league matches the club played in September. The midfielder inspired a 3-2 turnaround win at Nottingham Forest with a screamer of a goal.
He went on to produce an excellent outing in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle at the St. James’ Park. Billing is receiving his first ever nomination for the player of the month award.
Kevin De Bruyne assisted three of City’s four goals in the month under review. He is two clear at the top of this season’s assists chart. De Bruyne’s scintillating performances for the Manchester club have been nothing short of outstanding.
His telepathic understanding with top scorer Erling Haaland has been a very devastating one for opposition defenders.
In September, Dannish midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg proved very instrumental for Tottenham.
He helped the North London side to two wins in two matches, extending their unbeaten start to the season.
Højbjerg scored the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over Fulham before providing a goal against Leicester City.

Iwobi finally proving his worth
Nigerian midfielder Iwobi has been the backbone and engine room on which Frank Lampard’s Everton side has thrived.
Without a doubt, his consistency in delivering eye-catching displays since the close of last season till now is highly commendable.
His deep central midfield role has enabled him to express himself and improve his all-round game. He personally gave credits to Lampard for his turnaround in form, saying the former Chelsea star gave him the freedom to express himself on the pitch.
The former Arsenal man helped the Toffees hold Liverpool to a goalless draw in the Merseyside derby. He set up the only goal against West Ham, assisting Neal Maupay for his first goal for the club.
The 1-0 over West Ham was also Everton’s first league win of the season. He has deservedly been nominated for the September Player of the Month award.
21-year-old Jacob Ramsey supplied Aston Villa’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City before netting the winner against Southampton.
His impressive showings have earned him a maiden nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award.
Rashford masterclass
Also on the list is England forward Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United man has come under heavy criticism in recent times for his dull and uninspiring displays. He has however improved on himself and obviously has his confidence back.
To secure a nomination, Rashford was directly involved in a league-high four goals in September. The 24-year-old assisted the winner at Leicester. He was also involved in all three goals when Manchester United ended Arsenal’s perfect start to the season.
Fans can vote for their favourite via the EA SPORTS website until 12:00 BST on Monday 26 September.
The public vote will be combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be revealed next week.
Manager nominees
Meanwhile, three managers have been nominated for the EA Sports Manager of the Month award. They are Gary O’Neil (Bournemouth), Antonio Conte (Tottenham) and Erik Ten Hag (Manchester United).
