The recent appointment of Mohammed Umar as the new acting Chairman of the EFCC is no longer news to Nigerians. His appointment was approved by the presidency as he takes over from his former boss – Ibrahim Magu.
Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation in a statement released on Friday by his media aide. Confirmed that the appointment of Umar takes immediate effect.
President @MBuhari approves the suspension of Ibrahim Magu as Ag. Chairman of the EFCC in order to allow the unhindered inquiry by the Presidential Investigation Panel under the Tribunals of Inquiry Act and other relevant laws, a statement from the Ministry of Justice has said.

1. Mohammed Umar is the Director of Operations and second in command to Magu at EFCC
2. Umar is a devoted Muslim
3. Umar is from Kano State, in the North-Western part of Nigeria
4. He is a Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Nigerian Police Force
5. He is the fifth official to lead the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
Nigerians are curious and hoping that Umar’s appointment can help bring about some stability to the beleaguered commission.
