Portable vows to win Grammy Award


PORTABLE

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has vowed to win a Grammy award. 

Portable made this known during an interview with a YouTuber, Timi Agbaje on Tuesday, 7th of February, 2023.

The Zazoo crooner said his aim in the music industry was to win the Grammy award for the category of Best Artist of Africa with his record name ‘Ika of Africa.’

Portable said in pidgin, ā€œMake I no lie you, na to collect grammy, yes na. Best artiste for Africa, number one. That Ika of Africa, I want to use am to collect that award. If I collect that award, international ni, no be all those aparo local awards wey dem dey sell up and down.ā€

When asked which female singers he would like to collaborate with, he said: “They are plenty but he would love to work with Asa and Tiwa Savage before any other female singers.”

He further added that he needed help from international artists in the music industry to achieve his aim of Grammy-winning and other awards.

Portable further begged the popular Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, to give him a chance to collaborate with him on a song. 

He said that David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, had promised to give him a collaboration on one song, noting that after collaborating with him[Davido], he would love to work with Burna Boy. 

Portable further called on artists who have made it in the music industry to help those in trenches that have not made it.

The songwriter said he always fights online because he doesn’t want people to dupe him and vowed not to give room for that.

“They want to dupe me, that’s why I fight online. They have never duped you, and you never talk. I dey para because I don’t want them to dupe me,” Portable said.

He advised young men to make money before thinking about falling in love with any woman. 

Portable,  who was reacting to the saga between him and his baby mama, said money attracts women. 

“Make money before you fall in love. If you have the money, women will chase you. Nah baby mama fucked up, my wife is doing well.”
