I’m so excited to be performing at UCL final —Burna Boy


Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has said he is excited to be performing at the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul.

Burna Boy on the UEFA website described the opportunity as huge being a football fan, saying it does not get any bigger than the UEFA Champions League.

According to the Grammy award winner, he was so excited to be performing on the Pepsi stage at this year’s final because music and football are the ultimate combinations.

Burna Boy said: “As a huge football fan myself, I know it doesn’t get any bigger than the UEFA Champions League! That’s why I’m so excited to be performing on the Pepsi stage at this year’s final.

Music and football are the ultimate combinations, so you already know I’ll be bringing the vibes and making magic in Istanbul. The world isn’t ready for what we have in store!”

UEFA via it website said Burna Boy, a GRAMMY Award-winning and multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter, and producer will co-headline the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show by Pepsi® on 10 June at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

UEFA said Burna Boy who is known for his global chart-topping hits ‘Last Last’ and ‘It’s Plenty’, will bring his energy and signature soulful vibes of afrobeat to millions of fans before the biggest club fixture in football gets underway.

According to UEFA, other co-headlining artists that will perform alongside Burna Boy at this year’s final will be announced very soon.

The draws for the quarterfinal and semifinal contests between Manchester City, Chelsea, Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Benfica, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich will be done on 17 June in Nyon.

While the two teams that will play in the final are yet to be confirmed, Nigerians have taken to the comment section of the post saying they will love Napoli striker Victor Oshimen and Burna Boy’s appearance at the stadium in Istanbul.
