Davido: Chioma And I Didn’t Deserve Losing Our Son

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has said he and his wife, Chioma did not deserve to lose their 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The superstar Afrobeat singer stated this in an interview with CNN, three days after the release of her fourth album ‘Timeless’.

The singer, who said grieving the loss of his son had some impact on the project, added that the support he got from people was one of the things that helped him stand up again.

The 30-year-old singer further stated that during the incident, he could not open his Instagram for weeks.

Davido said: “Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I really had to calm myself down and take a step back.Nobody would want that.

“And everybody knows that Chioma and I didn’t deserve that.

ā€œPersonally with me, the support I got from people was one of the things that helped me stand up again.

“At some point, I couldnā€™t open my Instagram for weeks. One day, I just checked it and I saw messages from every kind of person in the world, from politicians to sportsmen, to other musicians, to presidents. It was like ā€˜youā€™re fine, you see everybody is rooting for you.ā€™

“That was one thing that really made me strong enough to stand up again, get back in the studio and do what I love.”
