Tori Bowie: Triple Olympic medallist and former world champion dies


Three-time Olympic medallist and former world champion, Tori Bowie has died at the age of 32.

The American sprinter won 4x100m relay gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics, as well as 100m silver and 200m bronze.

In 2017, she claimed 100m gold at the World Championships in London, plus the relay gold.

Mourning the deceased American athlete, USA Track and Field said Tori Bowie’s “impact on the sport is immeasurable”, adding she will be “greatly missed”.

In a post on Twitter, monitored by NRTC, World Athletics said it was “deeply saddened” by her death and issued condolences to “her family and friends”.

Her agent, Icon Management, stated: “We’re devastated to share the very sad news that Bowie has passed away.

“We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sisterā€¦ We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”

Tori Bowie is also a long jumper. The American had a personal record of 6.95m (22Ā ftĀ 9+1ā„2Ā in) for the long jump, set in 2014.
