During the wee hours of Monday, May 15, Nigerians waited under the rain to cheer 27-year-old sensational chef, Hilda Baci who is looking to set a world record for the longest number of hours to prepare multiple dishes across 96 hours.
The exercise which is currently ongoing at Amore Garden, Lekki, Lagos state will be coming to a conclusion today, Monday, May 15.
As at the time of this report, Hilda who hails from Akwa Ibom has prepared 115 meals with almost 3,000 portions.
She started the cooking on Thursday and is expected to complete the target time frame.

Specifically, Hilda is seeking to break the Guinness World Record for cooking held by an Indian chef Lata Tandon, who for 87 hours and 45 minutes non-stop in 2019.

Lagos State Governor Lauds Hilda Baci
Aside from support from Nigerians, socialites and the elites of the nation, other nationalities on social media have also taken time to applaud the grit and determination of Hilda. On Sunday, May 14, the returning Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was on the scene to encourage the 27-year-old chef.
Speaking about his visit, Sanwo-Olu wrote on Twitter,
“I showed up to support Chef Hilda Baci, in her quest to break the Guinness World Record @GWR
for the longest time spent cooking by an individual.
Her dedication, passion for cooking as well as her desire to put our rich culture on the map by not only exhibiting our food but also the resilience, determination, energy and team spirit that has come to be known as the spirit of Lagos and indeed Nigeria is truly remarkable.
We are proud to have Hilda embarking on this journey in our state. I will continue to follow the updates and look forward to the final declaration.”
Nigerians stand Under The Rain To Support Hilda
Since Hilda commenced the Cook-A-Thon contest on Thursday, the support she has continued to received from Nigerians has grown exponentially. The peak of the support came on Sunday night into the early hours of Monday morning when the populace preferred to keep showing support for the 27-year-old chef.
Spearheaded by social media content creator, Eniola Adeoluwa who is also known as lip-gloss boy, Nigerians roared, āGo, Hilda, Go, Hilda, Goā under the rain to the strengthen and encourage the talented saucier.
