Jannik Sinner has zoomed into his first Grand Slam semi-final after seeing off Russian Roman Safiullin 6-4 3-6 6-2 6-2 at Wimbledon.
The 21-year-old Italian fought hard to outclass his opponent. His draws so far have been relatively favourable and he has taken full advantage.
Sinner became the first male player since Boris Becker and Pete Sampras in 1995 to reach the semi-finals without facing a top 50 opponent.

By reaching the Wimbledon semifinals, Sinner joins an elite group of Italian men, including Nicola Pietrangeli and Matteo Berrettini, who have achieved the same feat in the tournamentās history.
Presently, Sinner has won seven ATP titles in singles and one in doubles. He also became the youngest ATP title-holder since 2008 by winning the 2020 Sofia Open.
Sinner emerged the youngest to have five titles since Novak Djokovic in 2007.
