Ahmed Usman Ododo has been affirmed by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja as the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Kogi State in the forthcoming November election.
NRTC earlier reported that APC primary election was held in all the wards of Kogi state on the 14th April, 2023.Ā
The presiding Judge, Justice James Omotoso gave the order in a pre-election matter filed by Senator Smart Adeyemi and some other aspirants that participated in the party primary election.

While dismissing the suit, Justice Omotoso said it lacked merit.
The court held that the plaintiffs needed to prove the allegations of forgery, and falsification of results, beyond a reasonable doubt.
In the same vein, the court pointed out that the burden rests on the plaintiffs to produce the alleged forged result or the original to discharge the burden, holding that failure to discharge the burden was fatal to the case of the plaintiffs.

He held that the APC primary election result was announced in all the wards in the state on the 14th of April, 2023 having reviewed all the evidence.
However, Senator Smart Adeyemi vowed to appeal the verdict of the trial court
