English footballer, Raheem Sterling has stated that he is a fan of Nigerian singer-songwriter, Ololade Asake’s single, ‘Amapiano’.
The single, ‘Amapiano’ is off Asake’s sophomore album, Work of Art.
Speaking about Asake’s single, Raheem Sterling mentioned that the song is currently is favourite song.

He made this known via the TikTok account of Chelsea football club.

In the video, the players while heading to preseason training, were asked what song they listened to at the moment, and Sterling revealed that he has caught the āAmapiano fever.ā
āAmapiano [by Asake],ā Sterling said when asked about what song he listens to at the moment.

Sterling’s revelation is coming several days after American musician, Swae Lee of the rap duo, Rae Sremmund gave credit to Nigerians for establishing the Amapiano genre.
Swae Lee’s claim instigated an argument among social media users earlier in the week.
The American musician has since apologized for his misconstrued statement and have also vowed to create a song off Amapiano beat.
Equally, Amapiano is a subgenre of house music and kwaito that emerged in South Africa, Pretoria the Capital City of South Africa in the mid-2010s. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths and wide percussive basslines
