Ajax have signed Chuba Akpom from English Championship side Middlesbrough in a deal that “will run until June 30, 2028.”
A statement released on Ajax’s website on Wednesday indicates the Dutch side will pay a transfer fee of ā¬12.3 million to Middlesbrough. This amount can increase to ā¬14.3 million through variables.
Born on October 9, 1995, in London, Akpom played for Arsenal’s youth academy. He also made his professional debut while at North London.

The 27-year-old was sent out on loan to several English clubs before joining Greek outfit PAOK FC in 2018.
Two years later, the striker signed for Middlesbrough. His impressive performances for Boro caught the eye of several clubs who were interested in him. However, it was Ajax who won the race to sign the player.
Akpom scored 28 goal in 38 games in the Championship last term to emerge top scorer. He also won the English Championship ‘Player of the Season’ award.
His direct play, beautiful link-up play, ferocious shot power and passing abilities will be instrumental for Ajax.
