Chicago State University, commonly known as CSU, has officially confimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the institution.
In an official statement provided to CBS Broadcasting Inc., also known as CBS News, the university confirmed that President Tinubu successfully graduated from CSU in 1979, earning a bachelor’s degree.
āAs an educational institution, we are sometimes asked to provide information related to student records,ā the school said in a statement issued to CBS.
However, the school clarified that there exists a federal law, namely the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), designed to safeguard the confidentiality of student records and restrict the university’s ability to disclose certain information.
Furthermore, it elaborated that in August 2023, a formal request was submitted to the U.S. federal court, seeking the university’s cooperation in divulging educational records pertaining to Bola Tinubu, the current President of Nigeria, and a former CSU student.
