The British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) disinformation team has released a report addressing the allegations surrounding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic credentials.

The report, titled ‘Bola Tinubu diploma: No evidence Nigeriaā€™s president forged college record,’ has affirmed that there is no proof indicating that President Tinubu falsified his certificate.

The controversy erupted on social media after Chicago State University (CSU) publicly disclosed President Tinubu’s academic records.

These records came to light as a result of a legal lawsuit initiated by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one of President Tinubu’s main opponents in the February presidential election.

Following extensive inquiries, the BBC reached out to CSU to clarify the authenticity of Tinubu’s diplomas.

In response, CSU stated, “We are confident and always have been in the veracity and integrity of our records regarding Tinubuā€™s attendance and completion of graduation requirements.”

Based on this information, the BBC’s report concludes that there is no evidence to support the claims that President Tinubu forged his college records.
