Nigeria will be without the services of Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho in a friendly match against Mozambique on Monday.
The game is Nigeria’s second friendly game of the international break and will hold at the Estadio Municipal de PortimƤo.
Nigeria was forced to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia on Friday at the same venue in Portugal.

Both Osimhen and Iheanacho have been excused from the Mozambique game due to different issues.
Osimhen, who picked up an injury in the match against against Saudi Arabia in PortimƤo, has been allowed to return back to Italy for further assessments.
Iheanacho absent due to personal reasons
In Iheanacho’s case, according to the Nigeria Football Federation, the Leicester City forward has been allowed to leave the Super Eagles camp in order to attend to a pressing personal issue.
However, coach Jose Peseiro remains unperturbed by the recent developments, backing the available players to beat the Mambas.
āWe will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud. I look at the bench and see players who can step up and take their chances,ā the Portuguese tactician said.
With the duo out, Peseiro will have to count on the likes of Victor Boniface and Terem Moffi in attack.
Also, wingers Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, who both started against Saudi Arabia, need to step up their performances.
Jordan Torunarigha and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be hoping to make their international debuts for the Super Eagles against Mozambique.

Nigeria have failed to win any of their last 15 international friendly matches, having drawn seven and lost eight. The last time the Super Eagles won a friendly encounter was a 1-0 victory against Egypt in March 2019.
Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu (who was at FC Midtjylland at the time), scored the lone goal inside the first minute of the game.
