In the latest report released by Forbes magazine on October 31, 2023, the renowned American singer Michael Jackson, popularly known as the ‘King of Pop,’ has emerged as the highest-earning deceased celebrity of the year.
Jackson, whose earnings amounted to $115 million, reclaimed the top position after four years, marking a significant milestone in the industry.
Elvis Presley, the late father-in-law of Jackson, secured the second spot on the list with estimated earnings of $100 million.

Other legendary figures such as Bob Marley, Prince, John Lennon, and Whitney Houston also made it to the top 13, showcasing the enduring financial impact of their legacy.
Collectively, these departed stars amassed approximately $470 million in earnings over the past year.
However, this figure represents a substantial 70 percent decrease from the previous year’s earnings.
The rankings were determined based on their pre-tax income derived from sales, licensing agreements, streaming royalties, and various other sources of revenue between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023.
