Luis Díaz: Kidnappers release Liverpool winger’s father after 13 days in captivity


Liverpool footballer, Luis Diaz’s father has been released by kidnappers, the Colombian Football Federation has confirmed.

Luís Manuel Díaz was abducted 13 days ago by guerrilla group, National Liberation Army (ELN) in Colombia.

The footballer’s mother was also abducted but was rescued by the police hours after the kidnap.

On Sunday, the Colombia international scored an emotional late leveller against Luton Town to help Salvage a draw for Liverpool.

After scoring the goal, the 26-year-old celebrated by revealing a message inscripted under his jersey which read ‘Libertad Para Papa.’ The message means ‘Freedom for Dad).
