Dejumo Lewis, veteran Nigerian actor is dead

Veteran Nigerian actor, Dejumo Lewis has died.

News Round The Clock (NRTC) confirmed the report during the early hours of today, Saturday, December 23.

According to the reports gathered, Dejumo Lewis died at the age of 80.

Lewisā€™s death was confirmed by his colleague, Saidi Balogun, on his Instagram page.

ā€œGood night DEJUMO LEWIS, may your soul rest in perfect peace,ā€ Balogun posted on the social media platform.

Lewis was notable for his roles in ā€œA Place in the Starsā€, ā€˜Crossroadsā€™, ā€˜Power of 1ā€™, and most especially for playing the Kabiyesi role in ā€˜The Village Headmasterā€.

Although the cause of his demise is yet to be confirmed, many actors have taken to social media to mourn him.

The veteran Nigerian thespian is renowned as one of the most influential figures in Nigerian film and television industry. He is famous for the Kabiyesi role in The Village Headmaster, Nigeriaā€™s longest-running television soap opera shown on NTA from 1968 to 1988 that starred Justus Esiri and Femi Robinson.
