Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State hosted renowned Nigerian musician, Inetimi Odon, aka Timaya at the Government House in Yenagoa today.
During their meeting, Governor Diri and Timaya discussed matters of mutual interest, including the promotion of Bayelsa’s rich cultural heritage.

The governor wrote: āI just received our homeboy, Inetimi Odon, popularly known as Timaya, the multiple award-winning Nigerian music star at the Government House in Yenagoa.
āTimaya is a worthy son of my community, Sampou, inĀ Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA and of Bayelsa State.
For Timaya, it is indeed the Ijaw Nation to the world. I have fond memories of him growing up and he has told me that he has come back to contribute to the development of our great State.ā

Timaya is a popular Nigerian singer who is known for his hits “Plantain Boy” and “Skodede.
