Ondo ‘ll recruit more health workers, says Gov Aiyedatiwa 


Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has affirmed that the state will hire health workers and settle all outstanding entitlements for employees, despite limited resources. 

The announcement was made during the annual prayer for the state’s civil servants on Tuesday, as confirmed by Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor. 

Mr Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the recruitment aims to fortify the health sector and address vacancies regularly as the need arises.

The governor expressed appreciation to the state’s public servants for their cooperation and acknowledged the support of labor unions.

He pledged to prioritise workers’ welfare, ensuring timely salary payments, promotions, regular advancement, settlement of inherited salary arrears, training, retraining, and provision of necessary tools for an efficient 21st-century Civil Service.

Emphasising the need for civil servants to focus on their duties without getting involved in partisan politics, especially with the upcoming governorship election, the governor urged politicians to avoid treating the election as a life-or-death matter.

Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the importance of prioritizing peace in the forthcoming governorship election and committed to opening the state for investors to bring in their resources.

In his remarks, the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, commended Aiyedatiwa for unwavering support across various issues affecting public servants in the state.

The HoS unequivocally expressed confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa, particularly praising his worker-friendly approach, including regular promotions with financial benefits, fair distribution of palliatives to alleviate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal, implementation of the 35,000 wage award, provision of SUV cars to 30 Permanent Secretaries, and other welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency.

Prayers were offered for the prosperity, peace, and progress of the state and the country at large.
