Expressing concern about the security challenges facing the country, HURIWA acknowledged the NYSC as a victim, not a cause, and urged the government to implement comprehensive security measures.

It specifically called on President Bola Tinubu to expedite the passage of the NYSC Youth Trust Fund, derived from one percent of companies’ profits, aimed at enhancing the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Department (SAED) of NYSC.

Highlighting the critical shortage of teachers in Nigeria, HURIWA argued against scrapping the NYSC, asserting its importance for education and emphasizing the invaluable contributions of NYSC teachers.

Onwubiko reiterated HURIWA’s unwavering support for the NYSC, urging the government to address insecurity and create a conducive environment for the program to flourish while preserving its legacy.
