Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to all government-owned tertiary institutions across the state.
This assurance was reiterated during a meeting held in his office on Tuesday with members of the Governing Councils of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa (OAUSTECH), and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA).
Governor Aiyedatiwa, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, emphasised the invaluable contributions of these institutions to society, particularly in terms of human capital development.

He pledged to address the various challenges facing these institutions promptly and called for their continued support and collaboration to promote excellence in education in the state.
During the meeting, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of UNIMED, Prof. Ayodele Arowojolu, expressed condolences over the passing of the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and praised his leadership.
Prof. Arowojolu also thanked the governor for releasing funds for the Faculty of Pharmacy of UNIMED and appealed for further support for ongoing projects.

Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of UNIMED, Prof. Adesegun Fatusin, commended the governor’s dedication to the institution and urged him to address critical issues.
He announced that the institution is poised to produce its first batch of doctors in Nigeria at an upcoming convocation ceremony.
Chairman of the Governing Council of OAUSTECH, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju, urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to continue Akeredolu’s legacy in developing the institution, citing neglected structures and the need for modern facilities.

Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, expressed solidarity with Governor Aiyedatiwa and praised his swift efforts in enhancing the educational landscape of the state since assuming office.
