The Commander, Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya has commended the Management of National Youth Service Corps for mentoring Corps Members for leadership roles and also empowering them with relevant skills towards self employment.
He said the Scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme has increased the number of self-employed graduates in the country, thereby creating employment opportunities for other youths.
The Commander disclosed today during his familiarization visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.

He particularly expressed satisfaction on the cordial relationship between NYSC and the Guards Brigade, but solicited for more robust collaboration as the new helmsman of the Brigade.
While making his remarks, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed stated that officers and men of the Brigade have been of tremendous assistance to the Scheme within their areas of operational jurisdiction.
On behalf of Management, Staff and Corps Members nationwide, the DG appreciated the Commander and Members of his entourage for the visit as he pledged a more stronger synergy with the Guards Brigade.
