Renowned social media influencer and Delta State Sports Association Chairman Morris Monye disclosed that Nollywood icon Amaechi Muonagor is dead.
Monye took to his official X handle on Sunday to announce the death of Amaechi Muonagor.
āDeeply heartbroken by the news of Amaechi Muonagorās passing. He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful.
āWe watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India.
āThis tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country,ā he wrote.
He further revealed efforts made to support Muonagor in seeking medical treatment in India amidst his health struggles, stressing the need for improved healthcare in the nation.

This sorrowful event comes shortly after Muonagor, aged 61, made a distressing appeal for financial aid in a video, seeking assistance for a kidney transplant.
His relative, Tony ‘Oneweek’ Muonagor, had confirmed his battle with kidney disease on November 27, 2023.
Muonagor, known for his roles in numerous films, including the iconic “Aki and Paw Paw,” where he portrayed the father of two mischievous teenagers, leaves behind a legacy in Nigerian cinema.
His passing follows closely after the death of another Nollywood icon, Mr. Ibu (John Okafor), who passed away on March 2, 2024.
