President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday emphasised that with the signing into law of the Student Loans Re-enactment Bill, the future of Nigerian children is set to be brighter as it paves the way to uplift them from poverty.
Tinubu made these remarks during an Iftar gathering at the State House in Abuja, where he hosted members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and the Independent Campaign Council, as stated by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
Highlighting the significance of education in combating poverty, Tinubu stressed that it remains the paramount tool for socioeconomic empowerment.
“Today, I signed the bill for the Student Loan Scheme. Imagine the children of the poor; what about people going through the mud, fishing in the ponds? How do you tell their children that their future will be brighter? It is only through education that we can fight poverty. A promising future awaits our children,” the President said.
The Nigerian President reassured citizens that the economy is being guided towards sustainable growth, aiming to bring prosperity to families across the nation.
