“She will now begin a therapeutic and rehabilitation program to prepare her return to training sessions.”

Plumptre missed Super Falcons’ final Olympic qualifiers against South Africa earlier this month due to injury.

She now faces a run against time to be fit enough to represent Nigeria in Paris after the Super Falcons booked the Olympic ticket.

Randy Waldrum’s charges defeated South Africa 1-0 over two legs to qualify for the sporting festival. It is the first time in 16 years that Nigeria have qualified for the women’s football event of the Olympics.
