Workers’ Day: Tinubu congratulates workers

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Nigerian workers on the auspicious occasion of Workers’ Day, an annual event celebrating the workers.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President saluted workers for their fidelity to peace, progress, and the nation’s development, evident in their tireless efforts and patriotic zeal to keep the national engine running.

President Tinubu celebrated workers across all spheres: from the clerical officer ensuring proper documentation and distribution of correspondence, to the security officer dutiful in all seasons, the teacher securing the future by imparting knowledge, the doctor tirelessly saving lives, and all Nigerian workers keeping the flame alive.

Tinubu affirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of all workers, noting various relief programs, including wage awards and an imminent minimum wage review.

He believed that the custodians of the nation’s machinery deserve fair wages and enhanced welfare, emphasizing that a laborer deserves not just any reward but fair and commensurate wages.

Assuring workers of his dedication, Tinubu pledged to not only improve their welfare but also enhance working conditions and provide necessary tools for success.

President Tinubu wished the workers a Happy May Day celebration.
