Manchester city set record for most consecutive premier league titles

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have now been crowned Premier League champions for a fourth successive season after defeating West Ham United on the final day.

The 2023/2024 title race went down to the wire with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal still breathing heavily down City’s neck.


Phil Foden’s quick fire brace and a Rodrigo fine effort successfully dispatched the Hammers in David Moyes last game with the club. Arsenal’s narrow triumph over Everton proved to count for nought with City’s comfortable victory.

As such, Guardiola’s outfit have now been crowned Premier League Champions in six of the last seven seasons.


The former Barcelona gaffer remains the architect of a very successful Manchester City over the past decade in England and the continent.

City stand a chance to add to their Premier League trophy when they take on Manchester United in the FA cup final.

Recall, the club have also taken the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup earlier this campaign.

Phil Foden who received the Premier League player of the year award earlier on Saturday and the game’s man of the match claimed “Not just me, all the lads have played in important games, we’ve played this scenario over. We were confident. It’s paid off.

“It was the perfect start. The [nickname] sniper is going to stay forever now. This feeling will never get old. I want this winning feeling always.”

The game started on the front foot with Foden finding the back of the net just 78 seconds into the encounter. A close second followed just over 15 minutes later to establish a lovely cushion for City.
Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland squandered a remarkable chance to get them 3-nil up.

On a matchday that saw a lot of goals, the dramatic kickstarted when Everton found the lead against Arsenal via Idrissa Gueye’s 40th minute free kick.

Mohamed Kudus pulled one back for the Hammers in the 42nd minute as Arsenal also found their equalizer a minute later. Leading to rousing shouts of hope at the Emirates stadium in the hopes of clinching the title at City’s expense.

The second halftime followed differing fortunes with Rodrigo all but sealing the title race with his late goal and Arsenal struggling to find one more through Kai Havertz.

While this title race began as a three-horse race amidst City, Liverpool and Arsenal, Guardiola’s side owing probably to experience in such scenarios have shown the grit and tenacity required to grind it out till the very end.
