Tobi Amusan has secured her fourth consecutive national title in the women’s 100-meter hurdles event.
The 27-year-old dominated the final at the national Olympic trials in Benin, Edo state, finishing with a time of 12.78 seconds, well ahead of her competitors.
This victory marks Amusan’s fourth straight national title, having previously won at the Olympic trials in Lagos in 2021, followed by two victories in Benin over the past two years.

In the women’s 100 meters, Favour Ofili claimed the national title and earned automatic qualification for the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old achieved a season-best time of 11.06 seconds, finishing ahead of Olayinka Olajide, who clocked in at 11.37 seconds, and Justina Eyakpobeyan, who placed third.
Kanyinsola Ajayi triumphed in the men’s 100 meters, posting a remarkable time of 10.14 seconds. He outpaced Alaba Akintola, who finished in 10.16 seconds, and Usheoritse Itsekiri, who came in third.
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi also continued his dominance in the men’s shot put, winning his fourth consecutive national title. His best throw of 21.37 meters, achieved in just three attempts, proved unbeatable.
